Want to take part in my breeding work?

As a breeder, there is an option for me to place a promising kitten to a home that then agrees to let me use that cat in my breeding when it comes of age. That means that I would get to use a male cat in breeding of one of my own females or that a female cat would be giving birth to kitten one or two times before the ownership would be officially moved to the new family.

This arrangement helps me as a breeder, because for some reason my man has informed me that there is a limit in the number of cats that can be living under our roof at the same time. However, the arrangement can also be very beneficial for the family adopting the cat. They get to attend to cat shows (if they want to) with my support and they get to experience the most wonderful thing there is: the birth of new kittens. Of course, getting a female cat means that the adoptive home has the main resposibility in raising those kittens, which is no small burden! But as a person who went through this arrangement with my first cat Luna, I can tell you that the experience was nothing short of a miracle. I had a great breeder there supporting me every step of the way and I'm hoping to achieve even a fraction of that with my future collaborators.

There are many sides to this, so don't be afraid to contact me! I'm happy to tell you more and discuss our options.

I breed somali cats in a town called Uusikaupunki, in the west coast of Finland. At the moment I have two blue somali girls of my own: Luna born in 2016 and Peruna born in 2018. I myself am a 27-year-old woman with a degrees in biomedical sciences and genetics. My interests in genetics intertwine with my interests in cat breeding. I want to breed healthy cats with good personalities. I want families to have quality companions and I would like to advance the somali breed in the process.

Cats, as do other pets, require commitment and care-taking for as long as 20 years, so getting a cat of your own is a decision not to be made lightly. Hopefully you have considered the responsibility thoroughly and considered your life during the next two decades. Of course, everything can not be predicted, which is why I will always be there for everyone that has adopted a kitten from me and you will always have a support system. When you adopt a Kulovalkean somali kitten, you will get a kitten with the following boxes checked:

  • 14 weeks of age

  • twice vaccinated (FPV and cat flu)

  • checked by a veterinarian

  • dewormed

  • microchipped

  • registered to the Finnish FiFe member alliance Suomen Kissaliitto

  • for indoor life only
  • with advice on how to feed and care for the new family member
